Dear Professor von Uhl,
I’m currently a student at City College Academy of the Arts, taking classes full-time at City College. I am interested in taking this class because it’ll make me a better thinker and a better writer.
The short-term goals for this class are to help me get a part-time job, such as either a subway or bus operator in the MTA, as well as get into a good university, such as Cooper Union. I have already sent some college applications and will need to send in the rest.
One goal that I want to achieve is to make public transportation available for anyone to make or ride. Transport is scarce around the world; not very much of it is green either. My lifetime goal is to make public transportation a standard for every city.
The skills that I’m proficient in are math and computer science, especially since I took multiple different extracurricular activities to improve in programming and problem-solving. In the past, reading and writing have been really hard for me; It has always given me a hard time, and it used to be my worst-performing class. With recent classes though, I’ve learned to enjoy writing, and also reading has become easier for me to understand.
I hope to have a great time in this class.
